FunkeeMonk Technology's Goal
Help Make Life More Fun and Meaningful through Elegant, Appropriate use of Technology
We take pride in paying special attention to details that others may overlook to delight you and raise your expectations of what software should be.
We try our best to do the hard work behind the scenes to shield you from the underlying complexity of modern software. We should do the hard work, not you.
We believe that technology should never be used just for its own sake. Our mission is to improve your life - making it more fun and meaningful.
About the FunkeeMonk
FunkeeMonk Technology was founded in Singapore in 2006 by Joe Goh. He has been tinkering with computers for 21 years (beginning with an Apple ][ clone) and writing software for computers for 8 years. FunkeeMonk Technology is his full-time job. Independent Mac developers in Singapore are a rare breed (as far as he knows, he makes up 50% of the population of the independent Mac developer community in Singapore), and he is proud to be placing Singapore on the map as part of the larger Mac OS X developer community worldwide.
About the Wikimedia Foundation and Why We Are Supporting It
Starting with the release of Phone Journal 1.1, $1 of each sale of Phone Journal will be contributed to the Wikimedia Foundation for their use on Wikipedia and other projects.
The founder of FunkeeMonk Technology, Joe Goh, has been a lifelong fan of encyclopedias, reading the Encyclopædia Britannica for hours everyday for leisure when he was a child. He has since replaced this habit with pouring over Wikipedia online, and offline on his Treo (using a 4GB SD card). Supporting the Wikimedia foundation is his way of expressing his gratitude towards the project and his contribution to making the world a better place, no matter how small it may be.
We are proud to contribute whatever we can to help Wikipedia's goals of spreading free access to all human knowledge.
